Since his historic election in 2016, Sheriff Travis Patten and the Adams County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) have worked tirelessly to connect our communities and serve every citizen of Adams County. During the Covid-19 pandemic and times of national unrest, Sheriff Patten demonstrated extraordinary leadership under crisis by orchestrating trainings, securing technology, and forging partnerships that strategically advanced Adams County.
Under Sheriff Patten’s Leadership:
ACSO created a state-of-the-art Cyber Crimes Unit, Peer Support Team, and Magnus Wellness App for law enforcement.
ACSO partnerships led to the takedown of a multi-jurisdictional drug syndicate that spanned from Adams County to California.
Sheriff Patten’s testimony in federal court helped Adams County secure the 2nd Crisis Stabilization Unit in Mississippi.
ACSO formed partnerships with the FBI, ATF, DEA, MBN, Secret Service, Dept. of Homeland Security, US Marshals, US Attorney’s Office, and US Coast Guard.
ACSO sucessfully negotiated and de-escalated a major gun groups’ threat, which provided peaceful resolution for Adams County citizens.
ACSO now has officers and jail staff trained in crisis intervention, diversity, and racial bias.
Sheriff Patten became the first sheriff in Mississippi to graduate from the Department of Homeland Security's Leadership Academy.
